The Messina brothers are Yesmoke, a small tobacco company based in present-day Turin, Italy. Originally, Yesmoke was an online cigarette store that sold its products worldwide. Every day millions of people bought cheap packs of Marlboro, Camel and Lucky Strike online. When sales exceeded one hundred million, "Big Tobacco" began to fight the "Little Guys" and sued them for 550 million dollars, forcing them to shut down their website. The two brothers decided to build their own cigarette manufacturing company on the outskirts of Turin, challenging Philip Morris in an attempt to level the playing field. Their goal is to take revenge and attack the tobacco multinationals with every means at their disposal. But today the Italian government, with its strict regulations, has also changed the course of this ongoing debate. smoKings is like a gangster movie in the sense that there are no good guys, just little bad guys fighting big bad guys.
